Medical World Requires Heart, not Brain.

Medical World Requires Heart, not Brain.
Empathy has exited from the medical profession. This is what giants like Prof Farokh Udwadia and Dr B M Hegde are so powerfully and emphatically trying to point out. We have had enough of needless logic and intellectual oneupmanship. It is time to open our eyes to the tremendous suffering that is ripping people and families apart, breaking the fabric of society. Why should the best of brains be engaged in perpetuating suffering? Is it so difficult to know and realize that things have gone horribly wrong? Not just physical suffering and diseases, mental afflictions are everywhere affecting all and sundry. The worst suffers are women and children. Women are suffering because their bodies and minds are extremely sensitive to even minute changes and they have to bear cataclysmic changes when they go through the process of pregnancy, childbirth and its aftermath. They experience deep seated changes every month as they ovulate and then expel during their menstrual cycle. Children suffer because their bodies and minds go through a development phase that reaches its peak during adolescence when hormones start excreting to perform functional changes. Women and children are the future of humanity. We cannot afford to ignore their pain. It is time to junk the ego and retrace the path to sanity. We cannot afford to ignore the tremendous medical wisdom hidden in plain sight in ayurvedic, homeopathic and naturopathic texts. Everything is out there, we only need to be humble and learn. We need a heart. The world needs empathy. If it is not given people will need to wrest it out. Why should things come to that? Why cannot change be voluntary?
